Annual Hunt and Shoot is on again. Meeting at Pelican Park, Clontarf for an 8.30 am start. Meet near the information centre. On the day you will be given a sheet as to where you can photograph as well as subjects. Come along for a fun morning and a catch up afterwards for a coffee.

END OF YEAR AWARDS NIGHT
You are invited to the PCC 2022 Annual Awards Night. Come along to celebrate with fellow club members the end of the year of photography. Winners of the Annual Awards will be announced, trophies presented and Grade promotions announced.
It is a great opportunity to socialize with other members.
WHEN: Thursday 1st December
MEET: King Island Room, North Lakes Hotel, Lakefield Drive, North Lakes.
TIME: 6.30 pm for a 7.00 pm start.
COST: $40 per person, with an alternate drop dinner and dessert. You are welcome to purchase drinks from the bar. Rsvp to pcc@pccincqld.org by 17th November with any dietary requirements.

Portraits:
An image of a person or persons from the waist up only, not a full length shot. This may include accessories and backgrounds in character with the subject. The image may be taken in a formal studio setting or in the community at large. It may be in colour or monochrome. Must be a live human being (mannikins, statues or ornaments will not be accepted).

Social Documentary:
Social documentary photography is the recording of what the world looks like, with a social and/or environmental focus, and aims to draw the public’s attention to ongoing social or environmental issues. It is often associated with the photographer providing a critical review / assessment of these issues and how people act on them. In these cases, the photographer also often advocates for the people impacted, trying to draw the public’s attention to the topic documented. Images need to be black and white (grey tonal range) and not toned with any colour.

Scapes:
“Landscapes – An image featuring the natural scenery of the terrain. A tree or trees, people or buildings may be included but should not dominate the picture. Urban Landscape – An image depicting the residential area of a town or city or the people who live there. If the latter are featured, evidence of the urban location must be included. Nature:

Monochrome:
An image is Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no colour (i.e., contains only shades of grey which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a greyscale image that has been toned in one colour across the entire image. (For example, by Sepia, red, gold, etc.) A greyscale or multi-coloured image modified or giving the impression of having been modified by partial toning, multi-toning, or by the inclusion of spot colouring does not meet the definition of monochrome and will be classified as a Colour Work.

Humour:

Creative:
Creative or experimental photographs display a novel effect because of an unusual combination of objects and /or unusual viewpoint. Photographs in which the images have been modified during or after exposure by using an experimental technique are also eligible in Creative/Experimental sections. The photograph must always have a basic photographic image. Digital manipulation processes may be employed provided the original photograph was exposed by the entrant.

Starting at approximately 7.30 am, due to tide times. Low tide 5 am high tide 11am. Therefore mid tide is approximately 8 am. Hopefully there should be birds feeding on the waterline. Bring your camera and long lens and tripods. Don’t forget your water bottle, hat, sunscreen, mossie spray and coverup in case of mossies.
Later the club will supply a BBQ of bacon, sausages, sauce, bread and juice.

On the Program night 22st March the club has invited Lynette Romano to present on “Figure Study” .As this presentation will be of the human body, nudity, mainly upper body, will be shown. This will not be risque but a presentation of the human form. Both the photographer and model are professionals and that it goes without saying that we as members should show them the respect that they deserve.We request that should you be offended in any way please do not attend.
