We are having a General Meeting, followed by a demonstration of how to construct an Audio Visual. Bring a fully charged laptop, plus some images and music (if you intend to add music). If you don’t already have a Audio Visual program on your laptop there are free ones on the web. You can construct a mini 10, 10 images plus a title slide, or an AV that will go no longer than 4 minutes.
Tables will be set up, and there will be people to help you.
Program night on 23rd June will be a showing of your Audio Visual.

Due to the number of set subjects listed for 2023, the MC decided to create an additional competition in MPC that focus on 3 of the set subjects for 2023. The idea is that we use the remainder of the year to work on some of the identified set subjects together, go out in informal groups, create images and get together on 8 December at the club and as members and discuss the images rather than getting a judge.
- Night photography – “Refers to the activity of capturing images outdoors at night, between dusk and dawn. Images taken at twilight during the so called “blue hour” before sunrise or after sunset are not acceptable. The intent is to have a true night-time image without any residual daylight or sunlight.
- Intentional Camera Movement – “Moving the camera or the lens during the exposure, to deliberately blur the elements and create an artistic image. (Example: During exposure zooming the lens, or moving the camera, up, down, sideways, in a circle or upside down)”
- Abandoned – “Having been deserted or to leave behind and never to return, left unoccupied or unused, desolate, forgotten, forsaken, rejected. A physical act. Example: An abandoned car in paddock.”

Social Documentary:
Social documentary photography is the recording of what the world looks like, with a social and/or environmental focus, and aims to draw the public’s attention to ongoing social or environmental issues. It is often associated with the photographer providing a critical review / assessment of these issues and how people act on them. In these cases, the photographer also often advocates for the people impacted, trying to draw the public’s attention to the topic documented. Images need to be black and white (grey tonal range) and not toned with any colour.
